A 2D isometric extraction shooter about a sealed district and three ways out of it.
SPOILS is a 2D isometric extraction shooter set in a city district that was sealed six years ago and never reopened. You go in for whatever is worth carrying, and then you have to get home. Getting in is easy. Getting out is the game.
SPOILS is a 2D isometric extraction shooter built by one person. A single city district was sealed off six years ago behind a fence its wardens call the wire, and people still go in for what is left.
There is one district, not a fresh maze every raid — the roads, the courtyard, the scrapyard and the rail line are all knowable, and learning them is the point. Weather and the clock are not: a full day and night runs on its own time, and rain, storms and deep night change what you can see and hear.
Three ways out, each asking for something different. A lift that comes free if you can stand in green smoke for five seconds and put a helicopter over your own head. A tollman's warden who will take 30 brass and stop the wire caring for the rest of the raid. And one freight train at midnight that leaves whether you made it aboard or not.
Every pixel is generated from code — no asset packs, no drawn files. Every sprite, tile, letter and interface element is produced by a single Python script from one 46-colour palette, which is why the whole game holds together tonally without anyone hand-matching a colour.
The district is 256×256 cells, and 18 of its 45 street lamps still work — which is most of what there is to say about how well the place is being looked after.

There is no trailer yet. Rather than put an empty heading here, this section will be filled when there is something worth watching in it. If you need footage before then, write and ask.
